Pharmacy Students/ Pharmacists please answer this. When you applied for places at university did you have work
experience? I have no time to gain any and want to know my chances of getting a place. I am predicted four As in relevant subjects so there is no problem subject wise. Thank you so much for answering.

- Hi, I found out last Wednesday i managed to get my place on the masters of pharmacy programme at Liverpool John Moores and i have no work experience. I'm a mature student though (25) and i'm only doing an Access Medical Science course, so your A-Levels should get you in no problem. As long as you can communicate successfully, and have some experience with working with people (I used to volunteer in citizens advice bureau) you should be fine. I wish you LOTS of luck as i completly understand how nervous you must feel!! If you want to be ask me about the exams i had to sit, or the interview then feel free to email me. Good Luck again!!! xxxxx
- dont worry as most people dont have work experience. my boyfriend did pharmacy at uni & he did not have experience. although he did a foundation in science as well as A-levels. but i do not think this matters either. as long as you get the required grades and have a good statement to back you up & do well in the interviews etc, you will be fine. you could always put in your statement, or tell the uni's that u are hoping to do work experience over summer...but u want to concentrate on your education at the moment. seems sensible really. good luck with it, x
- Dont worry about work experience - your personal statement covers all sorts. Have you do any charity / fund raising / school based activities at school? Are you in any 'groups' ie acting / musical etc. Uni's want people who are 'well rounded' - my son didnt do any 'science' based work experience but got onto a biomedical degree - he played in a band, did fund raising at 6th form, helped at school library, took part in some school shows and helped do the sound / lighting at others. Activities which you dont 'financially' gain from are good choices. If you have a part time job write that down but add that with your wages you hope to save for uni funds etc... They dont want to know that you work just so you can afford to go out drinking. Good luck
